Anatomy of a scream

BACK TO WRITING

Scream
your most insistent hush
and their watchtowers
watch us
steal their coughed up cancers.

Our metered hearts conspire
in spite and break us.

Scream
your most sombre thunder
and from watchtowers
they watch
their corpse-men plunder
the mould-dead meat of faith.

Our metered hearts conspire
in spite and break us.
